Subject: Special equipment for distribution of anhydrous ammonia .
Reference to Annex I, Section I.1, to Directive 2008/68/EC: 6.8.2.2.2.
Content of the Annex to the Directive: to avoid any loss of contents in case of failure of devices (pipes, lateral locking devices), the shutter and its seating shall be protected against the risk of being wrenched off by Outdoors, or is designed to prevent it. The filling and discharge devices (including flanges or threaded plugs) and protective caps must be capable of being secured against any unintended opening.
content of national legislation: Tanks used for the distribution and application anhydrous ammonia for agricultural purposes were brought into service before January 1, 1997, may be equipped with external, internal place if these devices are provided with protection at least equivalent to that provided by the wall tank.

Comments: Before January 1, 1997 was used exclusively in agriculture, a type of tank equipped with external safety devices for application of anhydrous ammonia directly into the ground. Some tanks of this type are still used today. Rarely lead, carry or move road, but are used only to pay for large farms.
